Die GV war der erste eigens entwickelte Ultralangstrecken-Business-Jet, gewann 1997 die Collier Trophy und eröffnete Nonstop-Verbindungen wie New York–Tokio. Nur 191 wurden gebaut, bevor die G550 sie ablöste, doch viele sind dank einer robusten Zelle und einer Reichweite von 6.500 nm, die noch immer mit weit neueren Entwürfen konkurriert, weiterhin im Einsatz.
