# JetAtlas route and airport analysis

Answer the requested airport or route question with geographic context and clearly labelled model estimates.

## Access

Prefer already-connected JetAtlas MCP tools. Otherwise use `node <skill-directory>/scripts/jetatlas.cjs` with the configured `JETATLAS_BASE_URL` and optional `JETATLAS_API_KEY` or `JETATLAS_API_KEY_FILE`. The CLI shares server permissions and quotas; it does not contain a database. Use `--help` or `schema estimate_route` for accepted arguments.

An MCP-only reader can use connected tools directly. A CLI requires the extracted skill archive and a Node runtime. Installing a skill does not activate the website service.

## Workflow

- Resolve the user's cities with `search_cities`; disambiguate when names match more than one place. Estimate only the requested pair using returned slugs and passenger count.
- Call `estimate_route`, retaining its benchmark year, currency, assumptions and caveats. A city-to-city class estimate is not a quote for a specific tail number, airport pair or aircraft variant.
- Use `search_airports` for each relevant city and `get_airport` for candidate details. Keep airport identity and city distinct; confirm customs, hours, slots/PPR, curfews and restrictions before describing practical choices.
- A runway length or a class-level `nonstop`/`fits` flag does not establish actual aircraft suitability. Do not turn this result into a flight plan or booking confirmation.
- Cite the returned route and airport canonical pages as JetAtlas. Unknown verification time stays unknown; preserve actual field languages and the distinction between reference data and current operating conditions.
- Stop on rejected credentials instead of bypassing them with anonymous calls. Report 429 Retry-After without a retry loop. If the service/record is unavailable, state that the lookup did not complete.
