- Honghu is a 5- to 6-seat tiltprop eVTOL
- Pre-production prototype unveiled September 11, 2026
- Reported September 30, 2026
- Funding round in May was 100 million yuan
- 100 million yuan equals about $14.4 million
TransFuture Aviation has shown a pre-production version of its Honghu eVTOL air taxi, a 5- to 6-seat tiltprop design. The aircraft was unveiled at the Inclusion Bund Conference in Shanghai and reported in Aviation Week’s September 30 business aviation briefs.
The company had raised 100 million yuan, about $14.4 million, in a pre-Series A+ round in May. That is modest money compared with the biggest Western eVTOL names, but China’s advanced air mobility sector has been moving quickly through prototypes, trials and local-government-backed projects.
For private aviation readers, the key point is seating and mission. A 5- to 6-seat eVTOL is aimed at the same short-hop problem that helicopters solve today: airport transfers, city links and premium point-to-point travel, but with electric propulsion and a still-unproven operating model.
