Why it is famous
Innsbruck lies in the Inn Valley, hemmed in by the Nordkette to the north and the Patscherkofel to the south. Arrivals typically fly along the valley from the east and descend with mountains on both sides, and crews need special training for the airport.

Innsbruck is a gateway to Tyrol’s ski resorts — Kitzbühel, St Anton, Ischgl — and winter weekends bring a steady stream of business jets.
