Used business jet deals rise more than 20 percent

IADA says pre-owned business aircraft deal volume is up more than 20 percent from a year ago. Dealers signed 334 acquisition agreements in Q2 2026 and closed 746 deals, despite very tight late-model inventory.

  • Deal volume up more than 20 percent year over year
  • 334 acquisition agreements in Q2 2026, up from 270
  • 746 closed deals, up from 616 a year earlier
  • Long- and ultra-long-range jet asking prices rose in the quarter

The used business jet market is still moving fast. According to the International Aircraft Dealers Association, buyers remain active because new-aircraft delivery slots are long, flying levels are healthy and U.S. tax rules are helping some purchases.

IADA members signed 334 acquisition agreements in the second quarter of 2026, compared with 270 a year earlier. Closed deals rose to 746 from 616. Asking prices for long-range and ultra-long-range jets also moved higher during the quarter.

The catch is supply. Dealers described late-model, clean aircraft inventory as unusually thin outside the pandemic years. That keeps pressure on buyers who want newer jets with strong maintenance records. It also helps explain why used aircraft can stay expensive even when the market is no longer in the frantic post-pandemic phase.
