Used business jet deals rise 20% as clean inventory stays tight

IADA data reported by Aviation Week shows used business aircraft deal volume up more than 20% from a year earlier. Dealers closed 746 deals in the second quarter, compared with 616 in the same period of 2025.

  • Deal volume up more than 20% year over year
  • 746 closed deals in Q2 2026, versus 616 a year earlier
  • 334 acquisition agreements signed, up from 270
  • 67 price reductions in Q2 2026, versus 76 a year earlier
  • 100% bonus depreciation cited as one demand driver

The used business jet market is still running hot, even with higher operating costs and supply-chain headaches. Aviation Week, citing the International Aircraft Dealers Association, reported that deal volume is more than 20% higher than a year ago.

IADA dealers closed 746 aircraft deals in the second quarter, up from 616 in the same quarter of 2025. They also signed 334 acquisition agreements, compared with 270 a year earlier, while price reductions were fewer than last year.

The pressure point is inventory. Buyers want clean, late-model aircraft, but dealers describe supply as unusually thin outside the pandemic period. Long new-aircraft lead times and 100% bonus depreciation are pushing buyers into preowned jets, especially before the year-end tax rush.
