Eclipse Aerospace
Eclipse Aviation was founded in 1998 by Vern Raburn to build the Eclipse 500, the aircraft that created the very-light-jet category before the company's 2008 bankruptcy. Eclipse Aerospace acquired the assets in 2009, resumed production with the improved Eclipse 550 in 2013 and later merged into One Aviation, which itself failed in 2018. The type certificate and support business were acquired by AML Global in 2021, and the company now focuses on parts, upgrades and maintenance for the roughly 280 Eclipse jets still flying.
