Piaggio Aerospace

Piaggio Aerospace descends from the Piaggio company founded in 1884 and is best known for the P.180 Avanti, a three-lifting-surface pusher turboprop introduced in 1990 that remains the fastest turboprop in the world. After years of financial difficulty and extraordinary administration since 2018, the company was acquired by Turkish drone maker Baykar in 2025 with a plan to revive Avanti EVO production and support the roughly 200 aircraft in service. Piaggio also performs engine maintenance and builds the P.1HH unmanned derivative of the Avanti.
