The original HondaJet received its FAA type certificate in December 2015, with the first delivery that month. Its over-the-wing engine mounts, natural-laminar-flow wing and composite fuselage gave a 422-knot maximum cruise from two GE Honda HF120 turbofans, and the flight deck used Garmin G3000 touchscreens. It was priced at $4.5 million and was succeeded by the HondaJet Elite in 2018.
