The HondaJet Echelon (HA-480) is Honda Aircraft's move into the light-jet segment, designed as the first single-pilot jet able to cross the United States non-stop with a 2,625 nm range. It pairs Williams FJ44-4C engines and a 47,000 ft ceiling with an enhanced Garmin G3000 suite, and Honda is targeting first flight in 2026 and certification in 2028 with close to 500 letters of intent in hand.
The SJ30i is SyberJet's modernized version of the SJ30-2, a swept-wing light jet that is uniquely capable of holding a sea-level cabin to 41,000 ft and cruising at Mach 0.83 over 2,500 nm. The i-model adds Honeywell Epic-based SyberVision avionics, but the program has progressed slowly and no production examples have yet been delivered.
The CJ4 Gen2 is the largest of Cessna's single-pilot CitationJets, with a swept wing, Williams FJ44-4A engines and a 2,165 nm range. The Gen2 update added a redesigned cabin, new seats and cockpit refinements, keeping the CJ4 the go-to choice for owner-pilots who want light-jet speed with midsize-style range.
The Learjet 75, marketed as the Liberty in its final configuration from 2020, was the last Learjet ever built and closed the storied brand's production in 2022. Its Vision flight deck, 51,000 ft ceiling and Mach 0.81 speed carried the Learjet performance tradition, while the Liberty's Executive Suite added a pocket door and six-seat layout.
The Learjet 70 was the shorter companion to the Learjet 75, upgrading the Learjet 40XR with the Vision flight deck, canted winglets and TFE731-40BR engines. Only about two dozen were built before Bombardier consolidated on the 75, making it a rare but capable light jet with Mach 0.81 performance.
The CJ3 Gen2 succeeds the CJ3+ with Garmin G3000 avionics featuring autothrottle and emergency Autoland, plus an upgraded cabin with a fully enclosed lavatory option. It keeps the CJ3's efficient straight wing and 2,040 nm range, and deliveries began in 2025.
The Phenom 300E is the current version of the world's best-selling light jet, a title the Phenom 300 family has held for more than a decade with over 800 delivered. Since 2020 it has offered Mach 0.80 speed, a 2,010 nm range, a Bossa Nova interior and a runway overrun awareness system, while remaining single-pilot certified.
The Nextant 400XTi is a remanufactured Beechjet 400A/XP fitted with new Williams FJ44-3AP engines, Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics and a redesigned interior, cutting fuel burn by about a third and extending range to 2,003 nm. Around 70 were delivered from 2011, offering near-new light-jet performance at a fraction of new-aircraft prices.
The PC-24 is the only business jet certified for unpaved runways, combining a cargo door, a flat-floor cabin larger than most light jets and single-pilot operation. Pilatus delivered a record 51 in 2024 and introduced an upgraded version with 2,000 nm range and higher payload, keeping demand strong from owner-pilots, charter fleets and air-ambulance operators.
The Learjet 45XR raised the maximum takeoff weight and engine thrust of the popular Learjet 45, improving hot-and-high performance and payload. It offers an eight-passenger cabin, Mach 0.81 speed and a 51,000 ft ceiling, and it remains one of the most affordable ways to own a Learjet with modern avionics.
The M2 Gen2 is the entry point to the Citation family, a single-pilot twinjet with Garmin G3000 avionics and Williams FJ44 engines that cruises at 404 knots over 1,550 nm. The Gen2 update refreshed the cabin with new seats, lighting and wireless connectivity, keeping the M2 a popular step-up for owner-pilots.
The Premier IA refined Beechcraft's composite-fuselage light jet with improved brakes, interior and avionics, delivering the widest cabin and fastest cruise in its class for single-pilot operation. Around 130 were built before production ended in 2012, and it remains an attractive owner-flown jet given careful attention to its landing performance.
