- 81,090 global private jet departures in week 38
- Week ended September 20, 2026
- Second straight flat year-over-year week
- Year-to-date activity up 3.3% versus 2025
- Africa up 17.4% in the week, while North America stayed dominant
The latest weekly flying data points to a cooler private jet market. Global departures were flat compared with the same week in 2025, the second week in a row without growth, according to WingX data cited by Private Jet Card Comparisons and reported by Instajet.
The headline number was still large: 81,090 private jet departures worldwide in week 38, which ended September 20. Year-to-date flying remained ahead of last year, but the lead narrowed to 3.3%. North America accounted for nearly 58,000 departures, including about 55,981 in the U.S.
The split is the interesting part. Fractional operators continued to help support activity, while emerging markets showed sharper percentage gains, including Africa at 17.4% for the week. For charter buyers and aircraft owners, the data suggests demand is not collapsing, but the post-pandemic growth pace is clearly less even.
