Ocean Aviation buys National Jets at Fort Lauderdale
Ocean Aviation, backed by Kennedy Lewis Investment Management, acquired National Jets at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. National Jets will keep operating under its existing name, with continuity for tenants, customers and staff.
The deal gives Ocean a 60-plus-year FBO business at KFLL, with redevelopment and expansion planned. It also pairs Fort Lauderdale with Ocean’s greenfield private aviation project at Miami Executive Airport, creating a two-airport South Florida footprint.
FBOs are the front door of private aviation: fueling, hangars, lounges, crew support and ground handling. Investor interest in them has been strong because good airport real estate is scarce, especially in places like Miami and Fort Lauderdale, where private, corporate and international flying all overlap.
