Cirrus Aircraft

Cirrus Aircraft was founded in 1984 by brothers Alan and Dale Klapmeier and revolutionized general aviation with the SR20 and SR22 pistons and their whole-airframe parachute. Owned by China's AVIC General since 2011, the company certified the single-engine Vision Jet in 2016 and added the Safe Return emergency autoland system in 2020. The Vision Jet has been the best-selling jet by unit volume for several years, with more than 700 delivered, and Cirrus completed an initial public offering in Hong Kong in 2024.
