The Praetor 600 evolved from the Legacy 500 with added fuel, winglets and uprated HTF7500E engines, giving it a 4,018 nm range that is the longest in the super-midsize class and enough for London to New York. Full fly-by-wire, a 5,800 ft cabin altitude and a flat-floor cabin have made it a strong seller, with Flexjet as a major fleet operator.
The G280 is Gulfstream's super-midsize entry, built in partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries and delivered since 2012. It pairs a transcontinental 3,600 nm range with the PlaneView280 flight deck and one of the largest cabins in its class, making it a favorite of fractional operators and corporate flight departments alike.
The Citation Longitude is Cessna's super-midsize flagship, with a quiet flat-floor cabin, Garmin G5000 avionics and a 3,500 nm range that links New York with London. Since 2019 it has become a major fleet aircraft for NetJets and has been adopted by the US Air Force as the T-54A trainer, underscoring its low operating costs.
The Citation X+ was the fastest civilian aircraft of its era, certified to Mach 0.935 with a stretched cabin, winglets and Garmin G5000 avionics over the original Citation X. Only 24 were delivered before production ended in 2018, making it a rare high-performance option that still outpaces every business jet except the Global 8000.
The Challenger 3500 updates the top-selling Challenger 350 with Nuage seats, voice-controlled cabin systems and an autothrottle, while keeping the 3,400 nm range and widest cabin in the super-midsize class. The Hawker 4000 was the first business jet with a composite fuselage and offered a large flat-floor cabin, PW308A engines and a 3,280 nm range. A protracted development and the manufacturer's bankruptcy limited production to about 75 aircraft, making it a capable super-midsize jet available at remarkably low prices.
The Challenger 350 was the best-selling super-midsize jet of the 2010s, adding canted winglets, more powerful HTF7350 engines and a redesigned cabin to the Challenger 300 formula. Roughly 400 were built before the 3500 took over, and its 3,200 nm range and flat-floor cabin keep it in strong demand on the pre-owned market.
The Sovereign+ updated the popular Citation Sovereign with winglets, Garmin G5000 avionics, autothrottles and a 3,200 nm range. Renowned for its short-field performance and long cabin, it was retired from production in 2021 as the Longitude and Latitude covered its market space.
The Challenger 300 was a clean-sheet design that created the modern super-midsize segment when it entered service in 2004, pairing a stand-up flat-floor cabin with 3,100 nm of coast-to-coast range. About 450 were built, and its robust HTF7000 engines and simple systems make it one of the most economical jets in its class to operate.
The Falcon 50EX was the final iteration of Dassault's pioneering trijet, adding TFE731-40 engines and Pro Line 4 avionics for a 3,025 nm range and improved hot-and-high performance. Around 100 were built between 1997 and 2008, and its three-engine redundancy still appeals to operators flying long overwater or remote-airport missions.
