Partners In Aviation says its co-owner pool has passed 3,000
Partners In Aviation says it now has more than 3,000 vetted prospective co-owners nationwide. The Chicago firm says that scale has cut the typical time from first introduction to first flight to about 90 days.
- Prospective co-owner pool: more than 3,000
- Startup point: about 75 candidates in 2018
- Year five: more than 1,000 candidates
- Typical timeline: about 90 days from introduction to first flight
- Current aircraft opportunities include HondaJet, Falcon 2000LX, Global XRS and Challenger 300
Partners In Aviation, a Chicago-based managed co-ownership firm, says its pool of vetted and qualified prospective aircraft co-owners has grown to more than 3,000 nationwide. The company started with about 75 candidates when it began making matches in 2018.
The firm says its larger network has shortened the typical path from first introduction to first flight to about 90 days. It has also broadened the aircraft it works with, from light and midsize jets to turboprops and large-cabin types, including the Pilatus PC-12, Phenom 300, Praetor 600 and Gulfstream G550.
Co-ownership is a useful middle lane in private aviation. It can suit people who fly too much for charter or cards, but not enough to justify owning a whole aircraft. The new figure suggests that shared ownership is becoming a more organized marketplace, not just a one-off arrangement between acquaintances.
