Bombardier

Bombardier began as a snowmobile maker in 1942 and entered aviation through the 1986 acquisition of Canadair, later adding Learjet and de Havilland Canada. After divesting its rail and commercial aircraft businesses it became a pure-play business jet manufacturer in 2020, with the Challenger 3500 and 650 in the midsize and large segments and the Global 5500, 6500, 7500 and 8000 at the top. Bombardier delivered 146 jets in 2024, the largest number of any business aircraft OEM, and the Global 8000 entered service in December 2025 as the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde.
